_________________________ Davell Crawford at the Opéra-Théatre de Saint-Etienne, in partnership with Jazz à Vienne. The pianist, singer and organist from Louisiana presented "Tribute to Ray Charles", a concert which earned him the award for "best performance of 2005 in New Orleans".
Admirably assisted by Chris Severin on bass, Jerôme E. Jennings on drums, Stephen J.Gladney on saxophone and Mauro Serri on guitar, he played the greatest titles of "Genius" in a very soulful way. The energy has arrived at the fingers. A sensual and animal groove did the rest. He is nicknamed "The Little Prince of New Orleans".
He knows how to succeed wonderfully in the "crossover" which brings together two parallels, those of black music and that of white music.
It is that, with him, the influences are assumed until the crispness. So he crossed paths with “Georgia on my mind” or “I got a woman” skidding skilfully towards all styles.

Judith Hill, biberonnée à la musique, mêle dans ses albums soul, R&B et funk. Ses créations touchantes par leur sincérité et leur fragilité prouvent combien de courage et de force il faut aux femmes pour s’imposer dans l’univers très masculin de la musique.
Judith Hill s’inscrit dans la veine musicale de ses parents. Mais tandis que son père et sa mère excellent l’un à la basse, l’autre au piano-, la chanteuse américaine ensorcelle le public par la seule puissance de sa voix soul.
Une fois sa licence en composition musicale en poche,l’Américaine débarque en France où elle travaille avec le compositeur Michel Polnareff avant de rentrer aux États-Unis pour y entamer une carrière d’auteure-compositrice-interprète.
Elle enchaîne alors les collaborations avec de grands noms comme Robbie Williams et Elton John. Son interprétation de „Heal the World“ lors la cérémonie d’hommage à Michael Jackson en 2009 lui vaut une reconnaissance internationale.
En 2015, elle chante sur l’album de Prince „HITnRUN Phase One“. Néanmoins, la vocaliste ne reste pas dans l’ombre de ses icônes et s’affirme en développant son propre univers.
Après ses premiers albums „Back in Time“ (2015) et „Golden Child“ (2018) qui exploraient le passage à l’âge adulte et la marginalisation, son dernier album „Letters from a Black Widow“ se détourne des sonorités légères et entraînantes pour révéler sa force et sa puissance extatiques. Dans un cri déchirant et passionné, Hill y clame sa devise « Ce qui ne te tue pas rend plus fort », montrant que toute expérience douloureuse peut aussi faire grandir.
